Todays Featured Guest is Tametria Jones, a female Navy Veteran who was one of the first women to serve aboard the USS Mount Hood. Our female veterans are the silent warriors who often go unsung. The military is still largely male dominated. Can you imagine the welcome received by the first women on a Navy ship? How about the first women who served in the war zone of the Gulf War, or Afghanistan? This Womans Words believes most men felt that women didnt belong there. I believe some men were excited to see them there, but not because they could add value to the military. We will discuss it with someone who was there.
